Important Website Access Information - Shore AdvantageAccessing features with cPanel - Shore Advantage clients
WEB CONTROL PANEL (cPanel) Your Web Control Panel (cPanel) is the main driving force to manage your website and enables you to access and adjust many areas of your website service including setting up your E-Mail accounts, E-Mail Forwarding, E-Mail Autoresponders, Domain Forwarding, ordering additional space, bandwidth and much more. You can get to your Control Panel at: yourdomain.com/cpanel User Name: Supplied to you in your welcome letter Password: Supplied to you in your welcome letter E-MAIL ACCESS (Squirrel Mail) Your account comes with the feature to access your e-mail from any computer with an internet connection! To get your e-mail from anywhere, log into: yourdomain.com/webmail Use the UserName and Passwords that you (or your NJMN Representative) set up in your Control Panel. TO ADD AN E-MAIL ADDRESS AT YOUR DOMAIN To add a POP Mail Account, just log into cPanel and under the heading Email Management Tools, click Add / Remove E-mail account(s). In the window provided, choose an email User Name and Password, Click Add Account, and you’re done! TO SET UP YOUR E-MAIL SETTINGS in Outlook or Outlook Express: First, you need to add an E-Mail account as shown above. Once this is added, in cPanel under the heading Email Management Tools, click Add / Remove E-mail account(s). Click the Outlook icon for the e-mail account and follow the directions in the pop-up windows Please note, if you do not use the Outlook Connector, use the following in your Outlook settings: Incoming Mail server: mail: mail.yourdomain.com Outgoing Mail Server: mail: mail.yourdomain.com You may have to adjust your settings (especially Outgoing) depending on requirements from your Internet Service Provider. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot be responsible for e-mail being delivered form our servers to your ISP’s e-mail server that you may not receive, especially Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, HotMail, Comcast, and others. Please check with your ISP if you are having trouble. SITE STATISTICS (AW Stats) You can view your website statistics directly from cPanel. To view your web stats, log in to cPanel and under the heading Analysis and Log files, click Web/FTP Stats. Then click the AW Stats icon, and your web statistics for the current will open in a new window. Your website statistics are a very important component of your online success, and they are updated once every day. NJ MetroNET will use your web statistics to help you make decisions about your website. If you have ordered web marketing services through us, your Account Representative will let you know the important thinks to look for when viewing your web stats. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) If you are going to be sending files up to the web server, you need software, which is FTP capable. Some of you may want to purchase and use a program like Microsoft Front Page or Macromedia Dreamweaver to edit and upload your pages and images. You may also have wsFTP or CuteFTP on your local computers. Either way, we provide you with the information you need if you will be taking on this task: FTP Host: ftp.yourdomain.com Login (username): Supplied to you in your welcome letter Password: Supplied to you in your welcome letter TEMPORARY URL While your website is being built and during the domain registration/Transfer process, you may be able to view your website at: http://shoreadvantage.com/~username DOMAIN NAME SERVER (DNS) NJ MetroNET Web services include the management of your domain, including domain registration and annual renewals. If choose to manage and renew your domain on your own, please be sure the following Name Servers are set to point to your new website.
